The food here is excellent. Steaks are first class. Be mindful though as it's so good its always busy. Be prepared to have a drink whilst you wait for a table or book in advance.

I've been going to the Axe and Compass since I was a little kid as we used to pass on the way to my Nans in Coventry (before the M69 was built!) It's not changed an awful lot in all these years.
They have a well stocked bar and the bar meals are very nice.
I brought my girlfriend here on our first date and we're still together 15 years later - though I can't say that's any thing to do with the Axe & Compass.
We came here in the summer and sat in the garden to eat. We kicked a ball about and the kids played on the play area which is looking a little dated.
I wish it was situated in the middle of my village instead of 5 miles away, I would definately use it more often.
